PRODIGY
High-Performance Player Development
Ages 7β13 | Invite-Only | Advanced & Competitive Players
The Prodigy Standard
Prodigy is the highest level of the Stovi Stars player-development pathway.
It is an invite-only, high-performance program designed for players who demonstrate exceptional talent, determination, promise, focus, coachability, and a genuine desire to improve.
Selection goes beyond soccer ability.
We believe talented players thrive when they are surrounded by the right culture, expectations, coaching, competition, and support system. For that reason, we look closely at both the player and the foundation surrounding them. A positive and supportive home environment is an important part of creating the consistency young athletes need to develop, compete, and thrive.
Our objective is not simply to identify talented players. It is to identify the right players for the Prodigy environment and provide them with experiences capable of elevating their game.
Identification β Development β Opportunity
Players are identified through Stovi Stars programming, games, camps, outside competition, recommendations, scouting, and other development environments.
Selected players may then be invited into the Prodigy training environment, where we can evaluate and develop them over time.
Players who continue to demonstrate the qualities and standards of Prodigy can earn invitations to additional Prodigy events, camps, training experiences, competitions, and opportunities.
The pathway is intentional:
IDENTIFY β INVITE β DEVELOP β CHALLENGE β EXPOSE β ELEVATE
The goal is for players to return to their club, academy, school, or team environments with an elevated understanding of the game, stronger habits, greater confidence, increased awareness, and a clearer understanding of what it takes to operate at a high level.
Developing the Complete Player
Prodigy development extends far beyond technical soccer training.
We focus on the complete development of the young athlete across multiple areas:
Technical Development
Ball mastery, first touch, passing, receiving, finishing, attacking ability, defending, movement, and position-specific techniques.
Tactical Development
Game understanding, awareness, decision-making, positioning, movement, recognizing space, and solving problems within the game.
Physical Development
Movement quality, coordination, agility, speed, balance, athleticism, and age-appropriate physical development.
Mental & Psychological Development
Focus, confidence, competitive mentality, resilience, decision-making, discipline, preparation, and learning how to perform under pressure.
Emotional Development
Helping players understand how to respond to adversity, mistakes, success, competition, coaching, and the natural challenges associated with high-level sport.
Mindset & Character
Developing habits and standards that extend beyond soccerβincluding humility, consistency, accountability, respect, work ethic, leadership, and character.
